Tooth enamel, finger nails and bones .these things living or dead?
Did you know that when a person dies, their fingernails and hair keep growing. Now the bones, I know that the bone marrow dies, I don't know about tooth enamel.Tooth enamel, finger nails and bones .these things living or dead?

Nails, Dental Enamel??
I suspect that dental enamel was used on my artifical nails.I soaked them for 1 and1/2 hours in 100% acetone,they still did not come off? Any solutions to remove them? ThanksNails, Dental Enamel??

Your out of luck. Anything that would remove the enamel would also destroy the nails as well.

Nail polish as theatrical tooth enamel...?
I want to black out my two front teeth for Halloween. Is it safe for my teeth to use black nail polish, or is there some special formula that is different in the ';real'; costume fake tooth enamel?

Not anything too bright or too dark, go for something like dark ruby, or wine colour, deep shades of dark red look fantastic, if you going for a less glamorous look try toning down to more natural colours like pearl or ivory, it really depends on the occasion but try different colours but avoid too dark colours like black, brown, etc and if your experimenting with pink avoid harsh pink like florescent pink try a mild soft pink or a darker shad eof pink which looks great of dark skin. good luck

Creative Nails nail enamel?
Ok well my grandma is a hair dresser and so every time she goes to a Beauty supply store, she gets a discount. Usualy when she goes, I'm with her and I always pick out one or two bottles of Creative Nails nail enamel. Just recently, she went in there to stock up on Mousse and I went back to where the section for Creative was. I noticed that all of the polish by them had been marked down to 1.99 and .99 and the shelf was just about empty. I asked the guy at the register what was up and he said that they were going to stop selling it basically because they werent selling very much of it. Which is a total shame because that is my favorite brand of polish! I usually get it at CosmoProf beauty systems.
Does anyone know where they will be selling it at or either can give me a website to order it from?

Also, I found that when you washed your hands or ran them under water, the nail strip would weaken a bit
Other than that, I loved them, and they honestly were the easiest manicure that I had ever done!

Oh no, don't do that, you will damage your enamel and poison yourself with nail polish. Try some pure baking soda or some hydrogen peroxide, food grade. My teeth are as white as teeth can get, my dentist told me, and that is what I have used on my own teeth.
Spray paint *smile*...
Try white strips, they work well. They even have a 5 minute one now.
Brush your teeth with a whitening toothpaste. And cut back on the coffee, cigarettes or whatever is staining your teeth.
I would talk to your dentist about it too.

go to a spa and get them whitened if you don't have the money for a dental whitening.
It sounds like you're talking about tartar build up, not stains. If you are, having a deep clean is the only way to get rid of it. Even if you do find some way to cover it up, in the long term you're looking at tooth and bone loss.
If you have chronic tartar, once the dentist has removed all the tartar from under your gums, keep it up with a sonic style tooth brush, floss your teeth daily and use an oral irrigator too (waterpik is good). If you keep your oral hygiene up in between visits, you'll only have to have normal cleans most of the time.

No the smell of nail enamel will not hurt your baby. If you have artificial nails, then you SHOULD be concerned about inhaling the filings when you have fills and stuff done. But, it can cause nail polish to not adhere very well, and prematurely chip off. One of the most common, and most effective ways to help slow this process down is to always make sure your nails are squeaky clean prior to applying polish. The first step is to remove the dead skin on your nails otherwise known as your cuticles. This is not the living skin that is above your nail at the as many people mistakenly believe. It is the dead skin which forms on the base of your nails as your nails grow out from the nail matrix. Use a cuticle pusher and some cuticle remover to gently yet thoroughly remove the excess dead skin from your nails. Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly after this step. Then wipe your nails clean to remove oils and other contaminants. You can use acetone, nail polish remover, or even 99% isopropyl alcohol for this purpose. Simply moisten a cotton ball, and wipe your nails thoroughly. Be sure to avoid touching your nails with your fingers after you have cleaned them to avoid transferring oils back onto your nails. Apply a high quality base coat followed by two thing coats of polish, and finish with a layer of high quality top coat. Clear polish is not the same thing as top coat. Always use high quality base coat and top coat since the cheaper ones that are available will not work as well. You don't have to spend a lot of money on them, but at the same time - don't skimp either. About the polish, most - but not all brands will last a long time provided your nails have been properly, and thoroughly prepped prior to applying the polish. Good question. Nail polish, besides being totally sexy, is very much like the paint on our cars. They differ in chemical composition, and its basically the way it dries. Enamel dries from the outside, or ';skins';, then hardens as the drying agent evaporates. It will dry to a slick, glossy finish with good surface preparation. Lacquer dries from the inside, and leaves a dull finish, until its buffed to a high gloss.

Is there any difference in formaldehyde & toluene free nail enamel/polish than there is to normal nail polish?

Formaldehyde and toluene are smelly organic chemicals. Formaldehyde is a good preservative, toluene is volatile and evaporates quickly, causing the polish to dry. HOWEVER.....
Both chemicals are suspected to cause cancer. Ideally you should avoid them. If you can't avoid them, use only with good ventilation.
